MRC Clinics - Better Faces, Less Braces

MRC TECHNOLOGY

Technology as a result of research

MRC Clinics® uses the Myofunctional Appliances developed by Dr Chris Farrell for Myofunctional Research Co. (MRC), which are in widespread use throughout the world, particularly in Europe. Research has been published in orthodontic journals to show that these appliances provide improved jaw growth through habit correction. Children also regularly experience improved facial development.

MRC Clinics® Treatment Plans combine these appliances with myofunctional and breathing correction training procedures called MRC TRAINER™ Activities. For a child with good compliance, the end results can be well beyond what braces alone can achieve.

Ages 2 - 5
Infant Trainer™, i-3™

The correct growth and development of your child is just as important as their health and education.

Children develop most rapidly between the ages of 2 to 5 years. During this period, 70% of the growth of a child's face and jaw occurs. Early prevention of bad oral habits is the best way to ensure your child achieves their full potential.

Ages 6 - 8
T4K™, i-3™

From around the age of six, a child's facial and dental development can often look wrong, but parents are told to wait until the ages of 11, 12 or 13 before having orthodontic treatment.

You don't need to wait until this age. In fact, it's better to start treatment early and correct the underlying causes of the problem (incorrect muscle function of the lips and tongue) because traditional orthodontics does not/

The earlier you start, the easier treatment is.

Ages 8 - 12
T4K™, MYOBRACE®, arch expansion

When your child is aged between 8 and 12 years, most of your jaw growth has already taken place. The permanent front teeth and the first permanent molars have been in place for more than 2 years, and the rest of the permanent teeth will be coming through within the next 2 - 4 years.

It is best to gain space by developing the jaws when you are still growing. Correcting jaw shape quickly allows more room for the teeth, and myofunctional habits are more easily corrected.

Ages 12 - 15+
T4A™, MYOBRACE®, arch expansion, fixed braces

When your child is aged between 12 and 15+ years, most of your jaw growth has already taken place. The permanent front teeth and the first permanent molars have been in place for more than 2 years, and the rest of the permanent teeth will be coming through within the next 2 - 4 years.

Because there is not enough time at this age to correct jaw shape with normal myofunctional treatment, and because the jaw shape should be corrected before the permanent teeth come through, a booster is needed.

It is best to gain space by developing the jaws when you are still growing. Correcting jaw shape quickly allows more room for the teeth, and myofunctional habits are more easily corrected.
